The Ford Mustang is an amazing machine—50 years of production and countless accolades has given it iconic status in the eyes of Americans and enthusiasts around the world. And while there are many vehicles that share an enthusiast following, few can match the Ford Mustang. And recently, Ford released a Hot Ford Mustang Video, loaded with serious Stangs and loads of tire smoke.

The Mustang is a lot of things to a lot of people. It’s a classic, a daily driver, a racecar, a show car, a collectable and even a dream. Mustangs have starred on the big screen, on TV, in music videos and they’ve owned racetracks all over the world. And now, with the global 2015 Mustang, our favorite Ford is truly a world-wide muscle car.

At Brothers Performance, we’re all about Mustangs and we offer an endless list of aftermarket components to give your Mustang horsepower, style and unlimited handling ability. It’s amazing how the late-model EFI Mustangs have evolved. The Fox-body Stangs of the late ’80s changed the outlook of performance enthusiasts as the EFI systems opened the door to a new level of small-block performance.

With basic modifications, such as the BBK Performance cold-air kit and throttle body, Mustang owners cracked into the 12s, 11s and 10s. Power adders such as nitrous and the early Paxton, Vortech and Kenne Bell superchargers drove Mustang performance to an entirely new level.

This evolution has continued to the 5.0 liter Coyote-powered Mustangs of today. A good-running stock 225 hp 5.0 H.O. will make about 185 rwhp and that was a big deal. These days, the 5.0 Coyote makes as much as 435 horsepower (444 in the 2012-13 Boss 302!). We’re anxiously awaiting the horsepower numbers on the Shelby GT350, and we anticipate 520 hp from the 5.2 liter mill. It’s pretty amazing to think that a 302 cube engine in a Mustang could stop the most fierce big-blocks muscle cars of the 1960s and early 1970s.

Mustang 50 Years Later At Flushing Meadows

Ford Mustang fans and company executives gathered the Mustang 50 Years Later At Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, N.Y. yesterday to celebrate 50 years of the iconic sports car that debuted on the grounds of the 1964 World’s Fair. In addition to the all-new 2015 Mustang, 94 cars from New York-area Mustang clubs were brought to the plaza in front of the Unisphere, where Moray Callum, Ford vice president of design, chose a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang fastback as best in show.
“It’s a great feeling to be here at Flushing Meadows 50 years to the day after Ford unveiled the original Mustang at the 1964 World’s Fair,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, global product development. “Seeing the devotion that owners put into caring for these amazing classic Mustangs reinforces why we put so much passion and effort into making the all-new 2015 Mustang great.”
Visitors to the World’s Fair on April 17, 1964 were among the first in the world to see Mustang on display at the Ford Rotunda pavilion. That same day, Americans stampeded into Ford dealerships to buy a Mustang. By the end of the day, more than 22,000 Mustangs had been purchased or ordered, a breathtaking start to one of the greatest product launches in history.
“Standing where my grandfather, Henry Ford II, stood to reveal Mustang five decades ago is both humbling and inspiring – especially since we are launching the next 50 years of Mustang at Ford Motor Company,” said Ford Vice President Elena Ford, leader of the Global Dealer and Consumer Experience organization. “Since then, Mustang has become the heart and soul of Ford Motor Company, and a symbol of my great-great-grandfather Henry Ford’s vision of putting the world on wheels.”After walking among the 94 classic Mustangs brought out by club members, Callum narrowed the selections down to these three:
• 1965 Mustang K-Code convertible, owned by Teresa and Steve Kronred
• 1971 Mustang Mach 1 fastback, owned by Steven Chernow
• 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang fastback, owned by David Davidson
“Great sports cars are living, breathing machines that reflect both their drivers and their creators,” said Callum. “Like a living organism, they must change and adapt or become extinct, and that evolution is on display today, showing how Mustang has adapted while retaining its essence.”
Callum chose a blue 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang fastback owned by Davidson as best in show. Davidson was presented with a unique prize, a Ford design studio model painted Race Red and used to evaluate exterior colors. Following the presentation, it was personally autographed by Elena Ford, Nair and Callum.
“I’ve owned many Mustangs over the years, but I’m just amazed to get this honor from the Ford design team,” said Davidson. “I’ve owned this GT500 for three years and it only has 40,000 original miles. It’s fantastic to drive.”
“Mustang has an incredibly rich heritage, and as we celebrate 50 years at Ford, we are focused on making the next 50 years even better,” said Nair.

Ford Announces Mustang 50th Birthday Celebrations

DEARBORN, MI- Ford announces Mustang 50th birthday celebrations schedule of events slated to celebrate the 50^thanniversary of the Mustang, which was first unveiled April 17, 1964. The events, including a throwback stunt at the Empire State Building, run from April 10 through May 4 in cities across the U.S. Only one event, a private employee celebration, is scheduled for Michigan. Over the past five decades, more than 9 million Mustangs have been sold. The 2015 Mustang is expected to go into production by mid-2014 at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan and arrive in U.S. showrooms in the fall. Ford is doing a staggered global release, with the vehicle arriving in global markets, including Europe and Asia, through 2015. U.S. ordering is expected to begin in the summer.

April 10-16 – Mustangs Across America 50th Anniversary Drive Mustangs Across America is organizing a caravan from Los Angeles to Concord, N.C. More than 500 Ford Mustangs are expected to join the drive by the time the caravan reaches the Mustang Club of America celebration at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

April 13-16 – Mustang Club of America Great American Pony Drive Mustang enthusiasts from around the world will gather in Norman, Okla. on April 13 before driving to the dual celebrations organized by the Mustang Club of America. In Norman, attendees will split into two groups, one setting out for Charlotte Motor Speedway, the other heading to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

April 16-17 – 2015 Ford Mustang at the Empire State Building Ford will celebrate 50 years since the public introduction of Mustang by putting a 2015 model convertible on the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building in New York. The car will be on public display, 1,000 feet above the street, both days from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

April 16-20 – Mustang Club of America 50 Year Celebrations The celebrations are expected to be so large that Mustang Club of America has organized two simultaneous events, at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The events are open to the public and include displays of Mustang from all 50 years, Ford vehicle ride-and-drives, cruises and Mustang history sessions.

April 17 – 2015 Ford Mustang at Flushing Meadows, N.Y. The original Mustang was first shown to the world at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. Ford will go back to the fair site at Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a small gathering of local Mustang club members and the all-new 2015 Mustang.

April 17 – Ford Employee Celebration Ford Motor Company will host an employee celebration of Mustang at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., 50 years to the day of the Mustang introduction. This event is only open to Ford employees and is a private event.

April 27 – Fabulous Fords Forever Car Show at Knott's Berry Farm The Ford Car Club Council will host the Fabulous Fords Forever car show at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif.

May 3-4 – Mustang Madness at Petersen Museum The Petersen Museum in Los Angeles will celebrate 50 years of Mustang with special events including a car show and guests including champion drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr.
