If you are looking for more Horsepower, torque, improved accelleration and overall improved performance from your 1996-2014 Ford Mustang GT, V6, Cobra, GT500, Mach 1, or Bullit you may want to invest in a new SCT X4 power flash tuner. SCT are one of the best names in power performance flash tuning software and over the years their SF3 tuner & X3 tuners have been one of the most popular and best performance flash tuners in the Mustang aftermarket. SCT introduced their latest flash power tuner that will replace the SF3 & X3 devices at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas last november and now it will be finally available to the consumer in March 2014. One of the most exciting changes besides the better size and overall quality of the unit is the ease to update the device. Instead of having to connect to a Windows-based computer for updates, the X4 has integrated WiFi built in that will allow update through a standard wireless connection. Rounding out the features are 2 analog inputs, ability to hold 10 custom tunes, multiple datalogging screens, and better navigation with its updated scrolling buttons. “The X4 will only slightly increase in cost over the current SF3s,” says Tim Roi of SCT. As you can see in the above photo, the new X4 is dimensionally smaller than the SF3 and boasts a full color screen that is much easier to navigate. The OBD-II port remains wired and uses a smaller, Livewire TS-style, plug that connects to the top of the device. Also the X4 will come with a window suction mount and is slotted on the back to lock in place, again, much like the Livewire TS. The New SCT X4 is set to release in Mid March 2014. This Is Why The New 2011 Ford Mustang V6 Has A Speed Limiter Of 112mph
If you’re shopping for a track-day 2011-12 Ford Mustang V6 or think of renting one on a budget, you may be tempted to consider the 305 horsepower 2011-12 Mustang V-6 as a legitimate alternative to the Mustang GT. The V6 is lighter up front and will also handle better with less understeer. Lower cost aside, the new V-6 is almost as powerful as the previous generation’s 4.6-liter V-8, it gets stellar fuel economy and it’s cheaper to insure. Sure, it’s limited to a top speed of 112 miles per hour, but (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) there are ways around that like in performance tune or custom tuning on a dyno. This video we found on you tube shows the potential consequences of exceeding a manufacturer’s design specification. In the case of the Mustang V-6, the car is limited to 112 mph since its lightweight drive shaft is designed more for fuel economy than outright performance. not to mention the tires on the car are probably not ZR rated. Remove the electronic governor, and the V-6 Mustang will wind out past 135 miles per hour. Until the drive shaft explodes, that is, sending shrapnel up through the transmission tunnel and into the passenger compartment.
The driver of the Mustang in the video is lucky to be alive and uninjured, especially after ignoring the signs of impending driveline failure. That noise you hear at about 0:34 in? Like the vibration that was surely coming through the floorboard, that’s bad, and not something you should ignore.
We also don’t condone top speed testing on a public road, even a lightly-traveled one. Likewise, when driving at north of 120 miles per hour, we tend to keep both hands on the wheel, instead of one on a camera filming the speedometer. As the video illustrates, driving is deceptively easy, until something goes wrong. According to the original video we saw which has since been removed from your and was posted by the owner/driver of the car - he had severe damage to the floor pan - center console - drive train - gear box - shifter and exhaust system that was crushed by the out of control rotating driveshaft. moral of the story - upgrade the driveshaft and tires if you remove the speed limiterThis entry was posted in News and tagged Transmission, SCT tuners, 2011 mustang v6. remove speed limiter, Ford Mustang on December 20, 2011 by Brothers Performance.

2012 Boss 302 BBK Throttle Body Installation & Dyno Test
BBK Performance have just released 2 new Installation and dyno test videos for new 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. The videos feature the new BBK Mustang Throttle Bodies (1821, 18210) and the BBK Mustang GT /Boss 302 Cold Air Intake (1768) system - One thing that they have developed specifically for the Boss 302 is an all new 90mm throttle body part # 18210 that will be released in the first quarter of 2012. This 90mm throttle body adds even more performance to the Boss motor and when they added a custom performance tune, the results were way beyond what they expected - BBK will release more test results in a future video. All these products also fit the 2011 & 2012 Mustang GT as well, what we wanted to see was how the Boss responded to the additional airflow and the results are exciting - Stay Tuned !
