For starters here is the latest 2015 Mustang convertible tech. The new Mustang convertible drop top that will be released later this year was engineered from day one to be a convertible, whereas the previous Mustang convertibles were basically just a coupe with their tops chopped off and a few structural enhancements added after the fact to compensate for the loss of structural integrity. Well the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang convertible has been designed from the ground up as an open-top model with unique bodywork . In plain terms, what this means is that Ford engineers were able to make the 2015 Mustang Convertible stiffer (with 13 percent better torsional rigidity, for all you car geeks who might be wondering). This accomplishes two key things: smooths out the ride by enabling the car’s suspension system to do its job better, and gets rid of the obnoxious flexing in the chassis transmitted to the cabin when driving over rough surfaces. Now, couple the stiffer structure with the improved IRS suspension Ford added for 2015 and presto: The new Ford Mustang Convertible should be in another league, not only in terms of ride comfort, but also in driving dynamics, when compared to the outgoing model. Ford have also ditched the cheap vinyl top from the previous base Mustang Convertible and now all 2015 models will come with a high-end fabric top that is nicer even than the one available as an upgrade on the outgoing car. The new ragtop has an added layer of insulation, which Ford says helps keep the interior nearly as quiet as that of the 2015 Mustang Coupe. Ford engineers have replaced the hydraulic top mechanism with an electro-mechanical one that is quieter in operation. More importantly, it lowers and raises the roof in half the time it previously took. The system is also more compact, so the top can tuck further away for a cleaner look and more space in the trunk and rear seat. Ford have also swapped the two latches on either side of the windshield header with a single one in the middle for easier operation. We think with all these changes Fords one and only convertible will be a big seller world wide when it is realeased later this year to the global market place.

$47K Rental Car Bill For A Mustang
What started as a fun getaway weekend has turned into a financial nightmare for a Dartmouth, N.S., woman who's now facing a huge bill she can't afford to pay.
It's all over a Ford Mustang that was stolen after she returned it to an Enterprise rental lot.
Back in October, Kristen Cockerill treated herself and her partner to a Mustang convertible for a day trip to the South Shore.
“It was nice. It was a Mustang GT convertible. Yeah, I don't know Mustangs the way that other people might, but it was a nice car,” she said.
At the end of the two-day rental, Cockerill returned the car to the Enterprise rental lot on Portland Street in Dartmouth. Continue reading →
