BBK Varitune Mufflers Make The Perfect Sound
Have you ever wondered what it takes to get the perfect sound from your exhaust system? I mean a sound that’s dialed into your liking. Different engines create different levels of exhaust flow, so it’s important to get exhaust parts that fit your needs. There is so much that can affect the music coming from your tail pipes — and we’re not just talking about the volume of your exhaust. Power adders, increased compression, big cams, headers, X- and H-pipes, mufflers and tail pipes all play a role in the symphony of sound. But only one muffler puts the sound tuning in your hands — and that’s BBK’s Varitune Muffler. Varitune mufflers and Axle-Back kits feature the patented Adjustable Power Valve that gives you the ability to tune your exhaust! So read on and see how BBK Varitune Mufflers make the perfect sound.
The Adjustable Power Valve, developed and patented by BBK Performance, lets you change from having a mild three-chamber muffler to a rowdy single-chamber muffler in a matter of minutes. These mufflers are built with an internal cone that is adjusted in or out to direct exhaust flow through the muffler. And since you control the position of the cone, you manipulate sound and power.
It’s all done with the turn of a screw, located on the exterior of the muffler. Changes are made by simply loosening the locking nut and then running the adjuster in or out. With this set-up you can quickly and easily dial in the sound of your exhaust with the turn of a screw and we offer kits for the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, plus trucks and a variety of other vehicles. You can even alter or off-set the Power Valves to remove any resonance or drone. This is important when you change rear gears or transmission ratios.
BBK Varitune Mufflers are available in a variety of sizes so there’s a combination for virtually any American performance car, including Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Chevrolet Camaro, and Corvette to name a few. Of course, you can retro-fit your Varitune mufflers to basically any vehicle, including early muscle cars. It’s important to note that all BBK Varitune mufflers and Varitune Axle-Back kits are American designed and American built from high-quality materials so they’re designed to sound great and last a long time.
To fit your budget, Varitune mufflers are available in aluminized or stainless steel in 2.5-, 2.75-, and 3.0-inch diameters, and are offered in various offsets to fit most aftermarket and OEM applications, including cars and trucks. Currently, Varitune mufflers do not fit the 1999-2004 Ford Mustang Cobra, and with many options for fitment, be sure to research and select the correct diameter and offset for your specific application.
