Gain power with a 1996 – 2004 BBK 4.6 Mustang Throttle Intake, which starts around $250.00. One of the most unique components in the Mustang aftermarket is the BBK Performance Throttle Intake kit. This throttle/intake combo fuses the throttle body with the intake elbow to improve performance on 4.6 Two-Valve modular Ford V8 engines found on 1996 to 2004 Mustangs and other Ford vehicles. This is an awesome component since it allows you to replace the restrictive factory intake parts with an attractive, high-flow induction unit. BBK Performance offers the Throttle Intake in 73 mm and 78 mm versions and with either a Charcoal Titanium Powdercoat finish or a polished finished for a few more dollars. Each kit comes with all the gaskets and hardware for a quick and simple installation on your Ford Mustang modular engine. Best of all, you can expect between a 12-15 horsepower increase at the wheels.

Increase power and performance with a BBK Performance Throttle Intake

The 1996 – 2004 BBK 4.6 Mustang Throttle Intake increases the airflow to your intake manifold to increase low-rpm power for improved throttle response, as well as extra power in the upper rpm range. This equates to more fun around town and better performance on track. We recommend the 73 mm unit for mild mods, and the 78 mm unit for more serious combinations. This is a must-have item once you’ve added nitrous or forced induction.

In addition to great looks, BBK Performance assembles each Throttle Intake from strong 356 aluminum castings, which is then CNC-machined and fitted with high-quality mechanical parts such as die-stamped throttle linkages, double-sealed bearings and an O-ringed throttle shaft. Plus, all BBK throttle bodies are designed, manufactured and assembled in the USA. What you’ll notice is smooth throttle actuation and durability that meets or exceeds the original standards.

Increasing airflow to your engine is relatively easy way to increase horsepower and torque, and BBK offers many parts that allow you to find this power right in your driveway. For maximum flow, we recommend pairing your Throttle Intake with a Cold-Air Intake and exhaust headers with a high-flow exhaust. Additional mods common to 1996 – 2004 4.6 Mustangs are underdrive pulleys, a recalibrated factory computer using a hand-held flash tuner, and numerically higher rear end gear ratios.

Eibach’s Pro Kit is an excellent choice for street and light-track performance. It will lower your Mustang by about 1.2 inches in the front and 1.0 inch in the rear as compared to the stock ride height. Dropping the body of the vehicle creates a lower center of gravity, which greatly improved cornering performance. This equates to quicker turn-in, better road feel and more overall grip. Note: this kit will not work with IRS-equipped SVT Cobra models.

And while this particular kit is not designed for IRS Cobras, the Eibach Pro Kit kit does work with your factory struts and shocks, and the progressive springs help maintain excellent ride quality, but with enough stiffness to provide a reduction in body roll for better handling.

Sunday, January 25^th was a glorious day as Chip Ganassi Racing Wins Rolex 24 Endurance Race With EcoBoost Ford power. Ganassi Racing drivers Scott Dixon, Kyle Larson, Jamie McMurray and Tony Kanaan drove their Ford EcoBoost-powered Number 02 Target Ford to victory in the 53^rd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

“The last two days were a lot of fun in the car,” Dixon said. “Everybody pulled their weight. Everybody did what they needed to do. That’s what gets you through this 24 Hours. Everybody kept the car in one piece. You have to be there in the end. You have to try to look out for the car so you have the speed in the end to try to compete for the win…I can’t emphasize how big of a team effort it is. It’s not one person who wins this race, it’s everybody involved. This weekend, everybody on the 02 team did their best job and that’s obviously enough to get a victory.”

According to Ford, Ford EcoBoost technology has now won the two most important endurance races in North America – the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring (2014). The EcoBoost program has four prototype victories overall with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (2014: Sebring, Long Beach, Circuit of the Americas; 2015: Rolex 24). The team now has the record for most Rolex 24 At Daytona wins scoring in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2013 and now 2015. Ford is ranked sixth on the all-time manufacturer’s victory list for the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship for the Modern Era (173 wins).

“It was a great day for Ford and a great day for Ganassi,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development and Chief Technical Officer. “We had a great car and great drivers. And, of course, we had really great power, reliability and fuel economy out of the EcoBoost. It’s just a great testament to the entire team. I couldn’t be prouder of them.” Nair was on hand to accept the Manufacturers Trophy on behalf of Ford.

Ford EcoBoost wins at Rolex 24 at Daytona

With the adaptation of the new EcoBoost into the Mustang, Ford’s EcoBoost technology is now available in the entire line of Ford cars, utility vehicles and light-duty pickup trucks in North America. EcoBoost-powered vehicles will continue to race in 2015, competing for a championship title with Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates with the 01 Ford EcoBoost Riley prototype, added our Ford source.

The win in Daytona didn’t come easy, as Tony Kanaan was forced to the garage on lap 201 to repair a broken front splitter. Amazingly, with fast work, the Target/Riley crew got him back on track only one lap down. The finish proved to be exciting, as Dixon held off a late charge from rival and defending race winner Sebastien Bourdais by just over two seconds.

With this win, Team Ganassi scored its sixth Rolex 24 at Daytona win, while NASCAR star Jamie McMurray joined legends A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti as winners of the Daytona 500 and Rolex 24. This was Dixon’s second Rolex 24 win. Kanaan and the young Kyle Larson scored their first Rolex wins.

According to a study by SplashData, “Mustang” ranks as the 16th most common password on the Internet in 2014. This makes Mustang One Of The Most Popular Passwords, More Than Superman, Batman and many other commonly used passwords. Superman placed 21^st, Batman was close behind in 24^th, according to a recent study. SplshData specializes in password management on the Internet.

Interestingly, Ford Mustang is the only car to crack the top 25 most common Internet passwords — but does that really surprise you? Chalk this up as another win for America’s most iconic pony car.

“We’re flattered people want to use ‘mustang’ as their password, but alone, it just isn’t strong enough to be secure,” said Keith Moss, Ford Director of Cyber Security. “We encourage people to use ‘mustang,’ but we recommend they strengthen their password by mixing upper and lower case letters, numbers, acronyms and symbols to make it unique.”

Adding letters, numbers, acronyms and symbols to your favorite pony car-inspired code for sign-in will help strengthen your password. Making Mustang one of The Most Popular Passwords, More Than Superman, Batman, is a major credit to Ford Motor Company, and the Mustang as an honest staple of pop culture. Enthusiasts speak of the Mustang as so much more than just a car. Mustang brings people together, but the growth will continue as the Mustang goes global this year.

According to Ford, here are a few suggestions for strengthening your “mustang” password: Add numbers to make it your own secret code (this may be your favorite Mustang model year, year you bought your Mustang, or year you sold the car). Incorporate Mustang option codes, paint codes, engine codes, or digits from your VIN. Create acronyms for modifications made to your Mustang (BBKStang, JMStang, EcoStang, etc.). Or you could include your favorite driving road, or race track.

Of course, using the same password on all websites is never a good idea. Ford recommends using a password manager to help keep your Mustang-related passwords organized and easy-to-access. This allows you to keep things “Mustang-themed” but secure at the same time.
