Ford And Richard Petty Will Build 143 Limited-Edition 2015 Mustangs

BrothersPerformance.com just learned that in the coming months, Ford and Richard Petty Will Build 143 Limited-Edition 2015 Mustangs. Based off the popular SEMA project, Petty’s Garage is planning to build a series of limited-edition, 627-horsepower Mustang GTs that will feature exotic paint and appearance, along with supercharging and many custom touches. There will be 100 Stage 1 models and 43 Stage 2 versions.

“We received a tremendous amount of positive feedback about our Petty’s Garage Mustang GT displayed at the SEMA show,” said Jeff Whaley, Petty’s Garage COO. “With so much interest, we began to explore the possibility of building a limited run of the Petty’s Garage Mustang GT.” In fact, Of the 43 Petty’s Garage Stage 2 Mustang GTs planned — only 42 remain — that’s because Rock ’n’ Roll legend Brian Johnson, lead singer for AC/DC, has an order in for the first car. “This Mustang has just taken my breath away,” said Johnson. “It really is one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. I didn’t have an American car, but I do now!”

Not just a pretty face, the Stage 1 Petty’s Garage Mustang GT will be customized with a unique front fascia incorporating driving lights and a blacked-out grille with black running horse. The rear fascia is also custom with a center-exit exhaust and NASCAR-style spoiler on the decklid. Further modification was done to the interior, including embroidered head restraints and floor mats, and Richard Petty’s rolling autograph on the dashboard.

To enhance the giddy-up, the team chose a Ford Racing/Roush supercharger, that’s fed with a cold-air intake. Engine calibration has also been tweaked, and you’ll hear the V8 rumble through the MagnaFlow exhaust, with the aforementioned center-mount exits. Powertrain modifications are covered by a Ford Racing/Roush Performance parts limited warranty; Petty’s Garage components and installation carry a 36-month, 36,000-mile warranty from Petty’s Garage.

Ford stated the Stage 1 Mustang GT can be ordered in any color, with all unique bodywork painted to match. Finishing the look are unique HRE FlowForm wheels and Continental tires.

If you’re looking for something extra special, the Stage 2 version is taken to the next level of performance with Petty’s Garage Wilwood big brakes, and a complete Petty’s Garage custom two-tone paint job. This version will roll on Petty’s Garage HRE three-piece forged- aluminum wheels.

Paint Perfection
Those 43 owners (including Brian Johnson) will stop traffic and win show awards with a very special two-tone paint job that is identical to Petty’s Garage 2014 SEMA show Mustang.

Not just the common Petty Blue, this modern version comes to life with crushed-and- tumbled glass combined with iconic Petty Blue paint. Actually, Petty’s Garage has created a one-of-a-kind color for the lower half of the car, which is set off by tri-coat pearlescent Ford Tuxedo Black. Petty fans will love that “The King’s” legendary No. 43 is expertly ghosted into the paint. It can be seen on the hood and C-pillars. Now that’s slick!

So how much will a special-edition Petty Mustang GT set you back? The Stage 1 Mustang is listed at a MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) of $62,210 — the Stage 2 model is priced higher at $92,210. According to Ford, either Mustang GT can be ordered at your local Ford dealership on a first-come, first-served basis.
