Ford Mustang Gallery from the 22^nd NMRA Spring Break Shootout

For over two decades, the Nitto NMRA Spring Break Shootout presented by Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, blasted into Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida for a weekend of wheels-up drag racing madness. And Brothers Performance was on hand to take in the sun, sounds, and smells of the burning rubber and race fuel. We walked the pits, talked to the racers and chatted with show enthusiasts to see the latest builds and hottest race cars. Of course, we were sure to gather a huge Ford Mustang gallery from the 22^nd NMRA Spring Break Shootout.

The NMRA offers a slew of drag racing classes for all levels of performance and modifications, plus there are special attractions, like the Tremec Racer Appreciation Party, True Street and we spotted BoostedGT from the hit TV show Street Outlaws, who made exhibition and grudge runs against racers willing to call him out.

Ford Performance Parts Announces 2016 Mustang Body-In-White and Competition Kit

Ford’s latest Mustang has been a huge success on the street and on the track. And on the heels of the 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang reveal at SEMA, Ford Performance announces 2016 Mustang Body-in-white and Competition Kit at the Performance Racing Industry trade show. The BIW comes painted and includes enclosures and a rolling cart for easy transport. The Competition Kit includes the BIW and adds factory exterior trim, interior trim, and select suspension components.

“Some race car builds can be challenging to start with a factory assembled car. A bare body provides an ideal platform for customized builds or back-halved cars”, said Jesse Kershaw, Drag Race Parts and Competition manager. “The body-in-white is the perfect starting point for racers with a donor vehicle, or step up to the Competition Kit for the rest of the factory hardware.”

Many racers use the kits to build Cobra Jet Mustang to compete in NHRA, NMCA and NMRA competition, but they also make a perfect foundation for a road racing open track or bracket drag machine. This lets you really build your project Mustang from the ground up.

According to Ford, the BIW and Competition Kit are sold for off-road use only and come serialized for collectability. And while the kit includes many of the parts to get you started, you’ll need to add your own powertrain, gauges, wiring and electronics. And that’s where the team at Brothers Performance can help. Australia Already Sold Out of 2016 Mustang

Australians are so excited to finally have the opportunity to buy the new Mustang that they have already ordered their entire allotment of 4,000 units for the 2016 model. Some were skeptical that the Mustang would sell well in Australia, particularly because Ford Australia recently dropped the beloved Falcon model from their lineup, but it appears the Mustang has been very well received.

Car Advice, a popular Australian car magazine, reports that roughly 80 percent of the cars on order actually have deposits. So it’s very likely that all 4,000 units will be snapped up as soon as they begin shipping next month. They also report that the overwhelming majority of Mustangs on order are the 5.0L V8 model (86 percent).

The President of Ford Australia, Graeme Whickman, told Car Advice "We are simply overwhelmed and humbled by the reception to Mustang thus far, which is probably our closest equivalent to the Beatles first trip to Australia."

Ford hasn’t announced how many Mustangs will be available for 2017, but based on the quick sellout of the 2016 models we’d wager the number will be more than 4,000.
