A very popular way to free up some extra horsepower is by installing a 1979-93 Mustang AC eliminator bracket or a 1979-93 Mustang smog pump eliminator bracket. In many cases these aftermarket Mustang AC eliminator or smog pump eliminator brackets will allow you to retain your factory length serpentine belt. Please not this is not legal for the street and only for race use.
