Reduce Bushing Slop for Maximum Traction
OEM rubber IRS subframe bushings used in the 2015-2017 Mustang are a design compromise between comfort and performance. The soft bushings allow the subframe to shift around under load, promoting wheel hop and unpredictable handling. These polyurethane bushings from Energy Suspension are firm enough to keep the subframe solid without significantly increasing NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) compared to the sloppy factory bushings.
Energy Suspension's IRS subframe bushings for the S550 Mustang are made from polyurethane, making them much more durable than OEM rubber mounts. Polyurethane is not only a higher durometer (stiffer) but is largely unaffected by contaminants and the weather, making it a much longer-lasting material.
