Tech Notes: Battery Ground Problems
Never overlook the obvious grounding of the electrical system. It is extremely important to always ground your battery to the iron block of your car and not to an aluminum accessory. The same is true when you relocate the battery in the trunk. Most people will use a short negative terminal wire and ground the battery to the frame rail. Don't do it! Do it right!
Use a welding cable or another negative cable (i.e., jumper cable) and connect the negative battery terminal to the engine in the same place that it was connected before the move.
